The first 2011 Census outputs for England & Wales were released at 11.00am on 16 July 2012.
Original ONS First data release
The raw data and Quality Assurance tables have been released as a series of Excel files in zipped folders (below). In addition, a Quality Assurance guidance note (.pdf), Quality Assurance data tables (.xls) and various methodological papers have been made available.

‘Equivalent’ 2001 Census Variables
Summary 2001 Census data for E&W (.xls): Where available, the equivalent 2001 data provided with the 2011 First Census release has been produced from SASPAC. The Excel file above contains data for constituent geographies in E&W and includes: All Usual residents, males and females by 5-year age bands, household usual resident and communal establishment usual residents. Short-term resident data was not available in 2001. Please beware that methodological and definitional changes apply when comparing 2001 and 2011 datasets.
